Staff: Taking a Break on Shopify POS
Clock In first – Breaks can only be started while you are actively clocked in.
Tap Take Break – The new Take Break button appears next to Clock Out.
Tap End Break – The timer stops, and you return to the regular Clock Out / Start Break options.
Finish the shift – When the day is done, tap Clock Out as usual.
Tip: Need multiple breaks? Just repeat the Start Break / End Break steps—each break is recorded separately.

To adjust a break (e.g., if an employee forgot to end one), follow the steps in our guide:
Breaks are assumed unpaid—break minutes are automatically excluded from Total Hours and payroll calculations.
