Who can do this?
Any staff member who has the Customize smart grid permission enabled for the current POS location.
Tip: Permissions are managed in Shopify Admin › Point of Sale › Staff › Manage POS Roles.
Steps: Add the tile inside Shopify POS
On the main sales screen, tap Add tile ( ➕ ) in the smart grid.
Tap App.
Select POS Time Tracker Clock Extension from the list.
Tap Add to confirm.
That’s it! The smart tile now appears in the grid for this POS location. Every staff member who signs into this location will see the tile automatically.
Need the tile at another location?
Tiles are saved per location, not per device. Repeat the steps above on each POS device (or location) where you want the tile to appear.
Important security note
Shopify POS also allows you to embed a link to the POS Time Tracker Admin app as a smart tile. We strongly discourage this approach. The Admin app grants access to modify clock entries and other sensitive data, meaning any staff member could gain admin‑level access by tapping that tile. Always add POS Time Tracker Clock Extension from the App extension list instead.
