Overview

If you encounter the error message "There was an error fetching your status" when opening POS Time Tracker on Shopify POS, it typically indicates an issue with app permissions for the admin user. This guide will help you understand the cause of the error and provide step-by-step solutions to resolve it.

Cause of the Error

The error occurs when the admin user who initially signed into Shopify POS on the POS device to set up the store does not have or no longer has the correct app permissions to access POS Time Tracker.

Important Notes:

  • This refers to the admin user who signs into Shopify POS using an email and password.

  • It does not apply to staff members who use a PIN to start a session on the POS.

  • Only admin users have the capability to sign into Shopify POS with an email and password to set up the store.
